The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
HIll throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Surtic.
Surtic jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

HIll throws out a leg kick but Surtic moves out of range and HIll only half commits.

Surtic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. HIll is working away from the top position though.
Surtic has hold of HIll's hands but HIll slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

HIll really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Surtic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marcus HIll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
HIll rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Surtic moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Citrus Surtic will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as HIll takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
