The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buendia tries to clinch but Zappatista is having none of it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Buendia.
Buendia wants to clinch up but Zappatista keeps it at a distance.
Buendia misses with a straight right.

Zappatista swats away the attempt to clinch by Buendia.

Buendia unloads a knee to the mid-section. Zappatista lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Buendia lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Zeburdiah Zappatista has been cut.
Buendia misses with a knee strike.
Buendia lands an elbow inside that Zappatista shrugs off.

Zappatista wants the takedown. Buendia is fighting it off but Zappatista persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Buendia's guard against the cage.

Zappatista has gone for a leg lock! Buendia slips out almost immediately though and dives into Zappatista's guard.
Zappatista is breathing heavily.

Zappatista working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Buendia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Buendia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Buendia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Zappatista is looking for a triangle here but Buendia uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Buendia is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Zappatista will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Buendia tries to close the distance and clinch but Zappatista swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Buendia lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Zappatista can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Buendia and Zappatista drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Buendia.
