Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carey Blevins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daemon Spast!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blevins throws a head kick but Spast moves out of range.
Spast gets the takedown into side control.
Blevins is not content to let Spast control the position.
Blevins is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Spast is controlling him well.
Blevins bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Spast throws a leg kick which misses Blevins's front leg but catches the back leg as Blevins tries to avoid it.
Spast gets a double leg takedown into Blevins's guard.
Blevins has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Spast off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Spast looks winded!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blevins shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Blevins controlling the action here.
Blevins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Blevins seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Spast for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Blevins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Spast is just riding it out for now. Blevins eventually gives up the hold.
Blevins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Blevins decides to return to a standing position.

Blevins drives through and clinches with Spast against the cage.
Spast gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Blevins controlling the position well.
Blevins manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Blevins tries a head kick but it misses.
Spast is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Blevins appears to be looking for a big counter.
Blevins is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Spast's half guard.
Spast is looking to get back to is feet but Blevins passes into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blevins has an Americana. Spast didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Blevins is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Blevins hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
