Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Ferguson (ranked 5493 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xhaka Laca (ranked 3374 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xhaka Laca!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ferguson duly obliges.
Laca gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ferguson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Laca swats away the attempt to clinch by Ferguson.
Laca shoots in looking for a takedown. Ferguson tries to sprawl out of it but Laca keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ferguson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ferguson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Horrible takedown attempt by Laca or perhaps it was just good defense by Ferguson, which made it look bad.
Tony Ferguson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xhaka Laca.
Laca gets caught napping as Ferguson dives in and scores a takedown. Laca manages to retain guard.
Ferguson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laca swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ferguson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Laca looking for a sweep. Not yet Laca, not yet.
Laca has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ferguson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ferguson wanted to stand there but Laca had control of the position.

Ferguson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laca swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ferguson wants to control from the top but Laca keeps moving.
Ferguson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ferguson wants to pass the guard but Laca is keeping the position.
Ferguson is looking to advance position but Laca has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
I've been told that Laca has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Ferguson is bucking up trying to escape but Laca cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The referee warns Ferguson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
