Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Karbo Darganyan (ranked 5395 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Adams (ranked 5573 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karbo Darganyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Curtis Adams!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Darganyan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Adams is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Darganyan is looking to advance position but Adams has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Darganyan is trying desperately to improve position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Adams connects with a nice short shot to Darganyan's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Adams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Darganyan dives on top into guard.

Adams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Darganyan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Adams controls Darganyan momentarily but Darganyan frees himself.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A close round but Curtis Adams will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Darganyan fails with a takedown attempt.
A countering left hand to the body from Adams misses.
Adams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Darganyan sprawls well. Darganyan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Adams gets slowly back to his feet.

Darganyan shoots for a double leg takedown but Adams sprawls well. He's pushed Darganyan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Darganyan stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Darganyan dives in for a single leg takedown but Adams sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Adams throws a front kick aimed at Darganyan's knee but Darganyan avoids it well.

Adams landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Adams stops Darganyan from getting back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Adams dives in for a single leg takedown but Darganyan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Adams has closed the distance and engaged Darganyan in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karbo Darganyan dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Adams is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Darganyan's half guard.

Darganyan makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Darganyan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Adams as he avoids it easily.
Adams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Darganyan circles away quickly and effectively.
Adams shoots in looking for a takedown but Darganyan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Adams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Darganyan tries for a takedown but Adams sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Darganyan or perhaps it was just good defense by Adams, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karbo Darganyan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Adams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Darganyan is stalling here. Adams is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Darganyan seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Adams has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Adams throws a strike aimed at the side of Darganyan's head but Darganyan avoids it well.

Adams is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Darganyan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Adams.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Darganyan is on top in guard.

Karbo Darganyan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Karbo Darganyan.
I think Darganyan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
