Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Workman (ranked 23198 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jungle Lord (ranked 5465 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Workman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jungle Lord!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Workman fails with the takedown.
Lord keeps the fight on the outside.
Workman throws a head kick but Lord moves out of range.
Lord shoots in but no luck this time.

Lord pushes Workman up against the cage in a clinch.
Workman is trying to force a seperation but Lord has the dominant position.
Workman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lord wants to take the fight to the mat but Workman manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lord escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lord shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Andrew Workman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jungle Lord.
Lord doesn't manage to clinch there - Workman circles away.
Lord tries to close the distance and clinch up but Workman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lord shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Workman as he jumps to the side.
Jungle Lord seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lord counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Lord jumps guard and drags Workman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Workman's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Workman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Workman trying to control the position from guard on top but Lord is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Workman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Workman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lord looking to control but Workman passes into half guard.
Workman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Workman slows the pace down in half guard.

Workman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Workman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Workman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Workman winds up and cracks Lord with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lord can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Workman sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Workman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lord keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Workman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Workman wants it to stay on the feet.

Workman really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Lord instigates a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lord breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lord dives in for a single leg takedown but Workman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrew Workman will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lord moves to clinch but Workman breaks away
and Workman counters with a series of strikes. Lord will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Workman counters with a left and a right that stings Lord.
Lord closes the distance and clinches up with Workman, looking for a takedown. Lord pushes Workman against the cage but Workman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Workman is looking to clinch but Lord is avoiding it.

Lord clinches up with Workman and pushes him back against the cage.
Lord tries to pull guard but Workman holds him up against the cage and eventually Lord drops back down to his feet.

Workman moves out of range of the leg kick from Lord.
Workman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lord stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Workman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lord's waist but Lord gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Workman off to one side.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Workman slips a jab and a cross from Lord.
Lord throws a body punch but Workman moves out of range.
Workman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Lord closes the distance and clinches.
Workman tries to break the clinch but Lord is controlling the position.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Lord.

Lord wants to take the fight to the mat but Workman manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Workman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lord walks away with a smile on his face. Workman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Workman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lord tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Workman is in Lord's guard.

Workman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Workman is looking to work some ground and pound but Lord has wrist control.
Lord looking to hit a scissor sweep but Workman is one step ahead there.

Workman trying to control the position from guard on top but Lord is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Lord has an active guard here but Workman has managed to pass into half guard.
Workman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Workman is keen to just control but Lord is a slippery customer.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lord is working to avoid the ground and pound but Workman connects with a decent elbow.

Workman is looking to take a break and control but Lord is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrew Workman.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Workman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
