The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hodge is trying to escape back to his feet but Boon uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Boon tries to advance to mount but Hodge denies him.
Hodge really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hodge is trying to control Boon's posture but Boon avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hodge trying his best to control but Boon has mounted him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hodge is looking to improve his position but Boon isn't that keen on the idea.
Boon wants to control the pace but Hodge is squirming around nicely.

Hodge is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hodge tries to lock up and control but Boon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hodge is just holding on here. Boon manages to take his back.
Boon wants to control the position but Hodge frees himself and scrambles - Boon manages to regain control in side control.
Hodge is not content to let Boon control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hodge manages to work his way to half guard, despite Boon's best efforts.

Hodge is trying to control but can't.
Hodge is holding on to half guard well.
Boon trying to advance position but Hodge counters by regaining guard.

Hodge looking for subs off his back but Boon has passed one foot through into half guard.
Hodge desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Boon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hodge does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Boon looks winded!
Hodge wants to control but Boon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hodge tries to kick Boon off but Boon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boon tries to clinch but Hodge moves away
and Hodge cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boon wants to clinch up but Hodge keeps it at a distance.
Boon looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Boon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hodge keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Hodge manages to get to full guard.
Boon throwing strikes from guard but Hodge blocks nicely.

Hodge working for a triangle but Boon defends it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Boon is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hodge has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Boon is looking to defend but Hodge has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Boon! Hodge pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Boon taps out and this one is all over!
