Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chunk Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Benoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benoit comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Whatever - Our Lady Peace kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit keeps the fight on the outside.
Liddel moves in looking to clinch but Benoit pushes him off.
Liddel connects with a jab.
Horrible takedown by Benoit or perhaps it was just good defense by Liddel which made him look bad.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Benoit has eaten all the pies!
Liddel lands a jab to Benoit's midsection.
Liddel is looking to clinch.
Benoit circles away from the clinch attempt.
Liddel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Benoit.

Liddel takes the fight into the clinch.

Benoit has Liddel pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Liddel manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Liddel wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Chunk Liddel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Benoit.

Liddel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Benoit counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Liddel is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Benoit can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Liddel is looking to escape.
Benoit sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Benoit looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Benoit with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Liddel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Liddel tries to get out of the position.
Liddel tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Liddel is trying to reverse the position but instead Benoit has taken his back - oops!
Liddel is breathing heavily.

Benoit scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Benoit is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Liddel. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Benoit has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Liddel is defending well but eventually Benoit manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Liddel has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
