The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chandler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pate tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chandler is in Pate's guard.

Chandler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pate looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pate looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pate!

Chandler is looking for a sweep.

Pate is trying to get an arm triangle but Chandler is defending well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Chandler's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
What can Pate do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Pate has his foot on Chandler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chandler works his way back into a safe position though.

Pate is rocked!

It looks like Chas Pate has been cut.

Chandler lands a huge takedown. Pate is out but the ref is slow to react and Chandler lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Pate lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
