Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Lowe (ranked 1922 p4p, 286 weight class) and Asmund Sykk (ranked 2163 p4p, 314 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sykk scores with a jab.
Sykk scores with a sloppy right hand. Lowe should have avoided that one.
A swing and a miss from Lowe.
Sykk attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Lowe throws a hook but Sykk blocks it.
Lowe throws a body punch but Sykk moves out of range.
Lowe slips a straight right by Sykk.
Nice defenses there by Lowe.
Sykk listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Lowe drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Sykk feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lowe's calf.
Lowe connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sykk throws a good cross that connects.
Lowe throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Sykk looks to score with a jab to the body but Lowe is just out of range.

Lowe lands a nice shot that snaps Sykk's head back.
Sykk bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lowe's head backwards.
Sykk throws a front kick aimed at Lowe's knee but Lowe avoids it well.
Lowe gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sykk.
Sykk has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
A slow jab from Lowe misses its intended target.

and Sykk makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Lowe misses with a wild body shot.
Lowe lands an overhand right.
Lowe throws a head kick but Sykk moves out of range.
Lowe throws a hook but Sykk avoids it easily.
The crowd cheers as Lowe lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sykk doesn't seem phased though.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sykk lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lowe has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lowe and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Lowe walks into a stiff left hand from Sykk.
Lowe works Sykk's body with a nice hook.
Lowe scores with a leg kick.
Sykk misses with a straight right.
Sykk lands a head shot.
Asmund Sykk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lowe on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lowe misses with a wild body shot.
Lowe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sykk unleashes a big counter combination but Lowe bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Lowe staying out of range there.
Lowe throws a body shot but no joy.
Sykk throws a lazy right hand but Lowe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Sykk tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Sykk is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Lowe had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Sykk has managed to clinch.
Lowe misses with the head strike.
Sykk takes a shot to the head.
Lowe can't find room to land a body shot as Sykk controls the action.
Lowe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A shot to the liver by Sykk. Beautiful body shot.
Sykk cracks Lowe with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Sykk looks to land a right hand but Lowe moved out of range.
Sykk tests Lowe's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lowe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sykk.
Sykk sizes up Lowe with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sykk lands a nice hook to Lowe's body. Lowe takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lowe lands with a kick to the ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sykk uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The fighters circling - Sykk throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lowe throws a right hand that misses
and Sykk counters with a nice uppercut.
Lowe takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Sykk swats away the attempt to clinch by Lowe.
Sykk throws a jab but it's blocked by Lowe.
Lowe closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Sykk throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lowe counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Sykk scores with the left hand. Lowe knows he should have avoided that one.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lowe moves out of range of the strikes.
Lowe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sykk throws a shot from downtown. Lowe moves away and avoids it.
Sykk throws a leg kick which misses Lowe's front leg but catches the back leg as Lowe tries to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Asmund Sykk dominated that round.
That's time! Lowe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sykk avoids a kick to the body.
Sykk takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sykk paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sykk throws out a powerful jab.
Sykk takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sykk misses with an uppercut.
Sykk blocks the body kick.
Sykk drops his hands momentarily and Lowe takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Sykk moves away from the strike by Lowe.
Sykk steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lowe.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lowe moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Lowe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sykk tries to counter by closing the distance.
Lowe defending well as Sykk loads up on a big left hand.
Lowe swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sykk looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Lowe takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Sykk has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lowe looks to score with a jab to the body but Sykk is just out of range.
Sykk takes the fight into the clinch.
Sykk swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Lowe fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Lowe misses with a hook from the clinch.
Lowe looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Sykk gets control of Lowe's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sykk will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Lowe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Sykk is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lowe is aware though and is defending well.
Lowe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lowe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sykk holds on and takes a little breather.
Sykk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lowe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lowe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lowe has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sykk to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lowe is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sykk pulls down on the head and he's put Lowe to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Asmund Sykk!
Asmund Sykk decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
