Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Cassel (ranked 5982 p4p, 486 weight class) and Carson Wood (ranked 6793 p4p, 508 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ramon Cassel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carson Wood!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood jabs Cassel right on the nose. Cassel blinks but takes it well.
Wood throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Cassel on the side of the head.
Wood has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wood's jab looks to have found its range, popping Cassel under the eye.
Cassel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Wood has taken the fight to the clinch.

Wood gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Cassel regains guard.
Wood lands a couple of elbows.
Wood content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wood with a nice head shot there.
Wood landing with the ground and pound.
Wood stands up over Cassel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wood throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Wood must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Wood working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Cassel is breathing heavily.
Cassel has momentary wrist control but Wood slips an elbow through the middle.

Wood tries to free his leg and advance position but Cassel is retaining full guard.
Wood postures up and lands a big shot to Cassel's brow.


Cassel is rocked!
Wood loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Oh Cassel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wood distracts Cassel with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wood landing with the ground and pound.
Wood scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Cassel has momentary wrist control but Wood slips an elbow through the middle.
Wood postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cassel seems to have got his legs back now.
Wood makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Cassel looking for a guillotine here but Wood defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wood connects with a couple of short punches.
Wood slips nicely into half guard.
Wood looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cassel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wood connects with a nice short shot to Cassel's temple.

Wood is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cassel is just riding it out for now. Wood eventually gives up the hold.

Wood wants to work for an arm triangle but Cassel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Wood is looking for a kimura but Cassel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wood to get the leverage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cassel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wood pulls his head out easily.

Wood is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cassel sees it coming and defends easily.

Wood is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wood working over Cassel with some ground and pound. Cassel looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Wood wants to work for an arm triangle but Cassel is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Wood is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Wood is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Cassel is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Cassel flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wood anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Cassel and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wood slips an arm under Cassel chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wood has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wood is squeezing on Cassel like an anaconda would it's prey. Cassel fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
