Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Waldo Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Romilson Tomaz!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomaz misses with a jab to the body
and Anderson counters with a two punch combo.
Tomaz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Tomaz is looking to clinch.
It looked like Anderson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tomaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tomaz clinches.
Tomaz tries to pull guard but Anderson won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tomaz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Tomaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anderson sprawls well initially but Tomaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Anderson has one foot on Tomaz's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tomaz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Anderson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Anderson throws a right hand that Tomaz ducks under and follows up with a left that Tomaz also avoids with ease.
An inside leg kick from Tomaz misses.
Anderson appears to be looking for a big counter.
Anderson misses with a wild combination.
Tomaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Anderson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Anderson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Tomaz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Anderson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Tomaz to his feet.
Anderson misses with a body kick.
Anderson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tomaz.

Tomaz blocks a head kick by Anderson.
Anderson swinging wildly here.
Anderson dives in for a single leg takedown but Tomaz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Anderson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Anderson tries to land a front kick but Tomaz steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Romilson Tomaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson throws a nice looking combination but Tomaz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tomaz closes the distance and clinches up with Anderson, looking for a takedown. Tomaz pushes Anderson against the cage but Anderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Waldo Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romilson Tomaz.

Anderson tries for a takedown but Tomaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Anderson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Anderson throws a body kick that misses.
A head kick misses from Tomaz.
Anderson looks to land a body kick but Tomaz moved away.

Anderson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Anderson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Tomaz to get to his feet.
Anderson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tomaz's waist but Tomaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Anderson off to one side.

Anderson avoids the head kick by Tomaz.
Anderson is looking for a counter combo.
Anderson tries to clinch up but Tomaz circles away and keeps his distance.
Anderson misses with a jab, cross combination.

Anderson moves into range and clinches up with Tomaz.
Tomaz doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Tomaz has Anderson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Anderson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Anderson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Tomaz jumps guard but Anderson stands there with Tomaz around his waist. Tomaz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Anderson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Anderson wants it to stay on the feet.
Anderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tomaz can do to turn this around?
Anderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Tomaz.
Tomaz fails to land with a series of punches.
Anderson feinted with a counter takedown.
Anderson stalks Tomaz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tomaz's face. Tomaz staggers backwards, shaken.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Anderson - that will leave a mark!

Anderson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tomaz.
Tomaz dodges the punch combination from Anderson.
Tomaz is breathing heavily.

and Anderson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tomaz wants to get back to his feet but Anderson passes into half guard.

Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Anderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson has his arm under Tomaz's chin here. Game over son! Anderson squeezes tightly and Tomaz is forced to tap out!
