PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jab Brown (ranked 4349 p4p, 510 weight class) and Midnight Rider (ranked 4344 p4p, 509 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Lützenkirchen - German Kiss . The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Rider throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brown fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Brown goes for a double leg but Rider avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rider continues to drive forward.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jab Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Rider sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rider connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Brown's hands.
Rider rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brown moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rider felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Brown is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rider has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rider sprawls and moves away.

Brown got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rider has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brown has managed to get both his arms back between Rider's legs - danger averted.

Brown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
