Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zackery Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cotton Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cotton Hill is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hill just misses with a punch to the body.
Hill tests Woods's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Woods drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hill is trying to control Woods's posture but Woods avoids it.

Woods tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hill wants to control but Woods postures up.
The ground and pound from Woods seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
You can see the frustration on Hill's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Woods wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hill keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Horrible takedown by Woods or perhaps it was just good defense by Hill which made him look bad.

Hill controls Woods momentarily but Woods frees himself.
Hill has Woods pulled in close to control his posture.

That was a close round but I would say that Zackery Woods will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Woods is desperately trying to improve his position but Hill has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cotton Hill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Woods is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Woods working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hill doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hill manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Woods is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Hill has his hands clasped together but Woods extends an breaks Hill's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Woods.
