Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Garret Woodard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Richardson!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Richardson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Woodard quickly recovers to half guard.
Woodard is refusing to be controlled, as Richardson sits in half guard.
Woodard wants to get back to his feet.
Woodard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Richardson not doing much here.
Richardson is pressing down on Woodard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Woodard is holding on for now.
Richardson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Woodard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Richardson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Woodard works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Woodard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Richardson wants to control from the top but Woodard keeps moving.

Woodard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Richardson closes the distance and clinches up with Woodard, looking for a takedown. Richardson pushes Woodard against the cage but Woodard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Woodard counters with a two punch combo.
Richardson throws a sloppy head kick and Woodard moves out of range easily.
Woodard tries a head kick but it misses.
Richardson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Woodard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Richardson somewhat.
Woodard is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Richardson.
Garret Woodard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Richardson.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Woodard connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Woodard pushes Richardson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

and Richardson counters with a left and a right that stings Woodard.

Richardson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Woodard's waist but Woodard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Richardson off to one side.

and Woodard makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Richardson really felt that one!
Woodard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Richardson as he jumps to the side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Garret Woodard will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Richardson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Woodard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Woodard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Richardson controls Woodard momentarily but Woodard frees himself.

Woodard gets to his feet - Richardson follows without any prompting.
Richardson lands a right hook to the body.

Woodard gets caught napping as Richardson dives in and scores a takedown. Woodard manages to retain guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Woodard wants to sweep here but Richardson controlling him for the moment.
Richardson postures up and lands a big shot to Woodard's brow.

David Richardson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Richardson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
