Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huey Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Winner has chosen It's time for war as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tiago Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Huey Winner!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Winner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dias sprawls well initially but Winner persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Winner wants to pass the guard but Dias is defending well.
Winner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dias keeps working.
Dias misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Winner blocks the strikes from Dias.

Winner seems to be working for a kimura but Dias defends the submission attempt.
Dias throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Winner is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Winner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dias pinned against the cage. Dias gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Dias feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Winner looking for a sweep. Not yet Winner, not yet.
Winner trying to control the position.
Winner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dias is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Winner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Dias in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dias cracks Winner with a solid left hand.
Dias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Winner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Winner is trying to keep Dias in close.

Dias lands a couple of digs.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dias accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dias drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dias jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dias content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Dias is breathing heavily.
Winner is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Winner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dias lands a couple of digs.
Winner manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dias is looking to improve his position but Winner isn't that keen on the idea.

Winner looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Winner prevents Dias from getting the reversal.

Dias defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Winner.
Dias is squirming around, avoiding Winner's attempts to control the action.

Winner has hold of Dias's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dias manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Dias sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Winner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dias knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Dias is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Winner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Winner's back!

Winner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Winner tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Winner gets back to half guard.
Winner manages to get to full guard.

Winner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Winner looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dias with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Dias throws and elbow that misses. Winner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dias's guard. Nice move by Winner!
Dias wants to sweep here but Winner controlling him for the moment.
Winner is pushing down on Dias's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dias is fighting to maintain full guard but Winner has managed to sneak the leg through.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tiago Dias will probably get the nod.

Dias fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Dias counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dias.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Winner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Winner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dias to the mat! Dias manages to get full guard.

Winner tries to stand but Dias is controlling from the bottom.
Dias is trying to control the position from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Winner closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Winner lands in his opponent's guard.
Dias can't keep his opponent in guard - Winner advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Dias is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dias is staying active underneath Winner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Winner passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dias!
Dias throwing hammer fists to the chest of Winner. What's that going to do exactly?
Dias throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Winner jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dias manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Huey Winner has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dias tries to buck Winner off but Winner is having none of it.

Winner advances to full mount.
Dias throwing hammer fists to the chest of Winner. What's that going to do exactly?

Winner is going olschool here, as he tries to force Dias to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dias shrugs it off.

Winner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Winner looking to isolate an arm here. Dias doesn't see it coming and as Winner extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Winner!
