Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leo Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobby Williams!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a body shot but no joy.

Stokes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Williams is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams looking for a sweep but Stokes has passed into full mount! Oh no!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams is looking to improve his position but Stokes isn't that keen on the idea.
Stokes content just to control the position here.
Williams manages to regain half guard. Good work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stokes wants to work for an arm triangle but Williams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Stokes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Stokes is thwarting Williams's attempts to control the position.

Stokes is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Stokes is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Williams has managed to free his arm - good work.

Stokes moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Williams.
Stokes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stokes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Stokes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Williams is looking to regain half guard here but Stokes keeps moving and retains side control.

Stokes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
Williams gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Stokes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Stokes is breathing heavily.

Williams looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Stokes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily.
Williams wants to control but Stokes is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stokes trying to control the pace.
Williams is pressing down on Stokes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Stokes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stokes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Williams is looking for a triangle but Stokes pushes his legs off easily.

Williams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Williams looking for subs off his back but Stokes has passed one foot through into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leo Stokes dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Stokes uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Williams misses with a double jab

and Stokes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Stokes's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Stokes jumps into guard, dragging Williams to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stokes pulls Williams in close to his closed guard and prevents Williams from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stokes is looking to stand up but Williams isn't so interested in that idea.
Williams wants to control from the top but Stokes keeps moving.
Stokes seems keen to control Williams's posture.
Stokes is striking from the bottom but Williams uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Williams is working for a submission of some sort.
Stokes keeping control of the position.
Stokes is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stokes keeps working.
Stokes is controlling Williams's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Stokes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like Leo Stokes has been cut.
Williams keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Stokes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Williams closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Stokes! Williams dives in looking to finish! Stokes is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Williams!
