Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, DJ Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oz Talent!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talent misses with a kick to the body.
Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Talent's waist but Talent gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side.
Talent lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
No joy there for Santos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Santos fails with a takedown attempt.
Talent throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Santos was covering up waiting for the punch and Talent finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Talent stands up and waves to Santos to follow him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Santos wants to clinch up but Talent keeps it at a distance.
Talent shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Santos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Talent has an Americana. Santos didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Talent is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Talent hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Oz Talent!
