PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Niles Saladbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Tamble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Saladbar might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Battleflag - Lo Fidelity Allstars. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saladbar lands a head kick that stumbles Tamble and the fighters go to the mat.

Tamble is rocked!

It looks like Darren Tamble has been cut.
Saladbar prevents Tamble from getting back to his feet.
Tamble is still in real trouble! Can Saladbar finish him?
Tamble seems to have recovered his senses.
Tamble trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Saladbar stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Tamble fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tamble misses with a series of wild punches.
Tamble misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Saladbar misses with a body kick.
Tamble shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saladbar pinned against the cage. Saladbar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Saladbar closes the distance and clinches up with Tamble, looking for a takedown. Saladbar pushes Tamble against the cage but Tamble circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tamble swings for the body but Saladbar moves out of range.
Tamble is looking to chop away at Saladbar's legs.

Saladbar takes the fight into the clinch.
Saladbar scores a nice knee to the body.
A head punch on the inside from Saladbar fails to land.

Tamble successfully pulls guard.
Saladbar won't allow Tamble to get back to his feet.
Tamble looks gassed!

Saladbar gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tamble steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Saladbar.
Tamble will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Tamble takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Saladbar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tamble is trying to stand up here but Saladbar is controlling him well.

Saladbar stands up out of the half guard.

Saladbar clinches up against the cage.
Tamble is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Saladbar gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Tamble escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tamble breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tamble throws a head kick that misses.
Saladbar walks forward, straight into a front kick from Tamble.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Saladbar tries to land a knee to the head but Tamble blocks with his arms.
Tamble scores with a nice hook to the head.

Tamble using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Saladbar has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Tamble is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Saladbar gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Niles Saladbar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Tamble.
Tamble can't break the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Tamble slips a jab and a cross from Saladbar.
Saladbar misses the jab.
Saladbar is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Saladbar throws a half hearted mid kick.
Tamble throws a nice looking combination but Saladbar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A slapping leg kick lands for Saladbar.
Tamble throws a combination that misses
and Saladbar counters with a nice body kick.
Saladbar scoring well with a low kick there.
Saladbar looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Darren Tamble seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Saladbar throws a quick inside leg kick.
Saladbar takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Saladbar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tamble swivels and escapes.
Saladbar avoids the head kick by Tamble.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tamble is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tamble throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Tamble wriggles free and stands up.
Tamble keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Saladbar decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tamble, up you get!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Saladbar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Oooh a lovely combination from Tamble sends Saladbar down but not out. Tamble dives into side control looking to finish.
Oh Saladbar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Tamble stands up and beckons Saladbar to his feet.
Saladbar is looking to clinch but Tamble is avoiding it.
A head kick by Tamble - that's a beauty! Saladbar is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Tamble can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
