PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cyrius Python (ranked 2138 p4p, 87 weight class) and Victor Mordino (ranked 4154 p4p, 168 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Victor Mordino was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Cyrius Python!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Victor Mordino!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mordino manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Python on his heels. He'll look to pass Python's guard now, I'm sure.
Mordino advances position into side control!
Python is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mordino's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Python misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Mordino is working for a kimura but Python is defending it quite comfortably.
Python wants to control but Mordino is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mordino perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Mordino is looking for a kimura but Python is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mordino to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mordino seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Python does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mordino might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Python haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Mordino fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Python to the ground. Mordino is now in Python's guard.
Python wants to get back to his feet but Mordino is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Python has managed to clinch.

Mordino is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Python can't fight it off and eventually Mordino manages to take the fight to the floor. Python looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
