The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Henriksen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Perez has managed to clinch.

Henriksen pulls Perez into guard.

Henriksen uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Henriksen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Perez, pushing him back against the cage.

Henriksen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Henriksen walks into a jab.

Henriksen gets the takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Perez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Henriksen lands a decent elbow from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henriksen misses with the ground and pound.
Perez is trying to buck Henriksen off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Henriksen trying to control the position but Perez is working away.
Henriksen landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Henriksen tries for a kimura but Perez is defending well.
Henriksen in side control lands a decent elbow.

Perez is rocked!
Henriksen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Henriksen grinds an elbow into Perez's temple.
Oh Perez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Henriksen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Henriksen lands a strong strike to the head of Perez. That's dazed him! Henriksen looking to finish here. Perez is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Henriksen lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
