Hjoervarsson comes to the cage accompanied by The Only. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rudskogen throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hjoervarsson scores with a punch to the head.
Rudskogen throws a hook but Hjoervarsson blocks it.
Hjoervarsson throws a nice looking combination but Rudskogen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rudskogen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rudskogen misses with a low kick.
Hjoervarsson missing with a left hand there. Rudskogen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rudskogen replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Hjoervarsson blocks it well.
Hjoervarsson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rudskogen. Rudskogen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Rudskogen counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Rudskogen looks to land a body kick but Hjoervarsson moved away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Arnaldur Hjoervarsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hjoervarsson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rudskogen.
Hjoervarsson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hjoervarsson feints and then cracks Rudskogen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rudskogen down.
Rudskogen lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hjoervarsson's sensitive parts.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rudskogen! But no joy.
Hjoervarsson throws a leg kick but Rudskogen sees it coming and moves out of range.

Hjoervarsson lands a big uppercut and Rudskogen crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Rudskogen looks OK. Hjoervarsson waves Rudskogen back to his feet!
