The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatum tries to clinch but Kuukas moves out of range.
Kuukas connects with a leg kick. Tatum looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Tatum fails in his attempt to clinch.

Kuukas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kuukas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tatum moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kuukas has Tatum up against the cage in a clinch.

Tatum escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A low kick from Kuukas misses
and Tatum counters with a left to the body.
Tatum will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kuukas lands a nice looking body shot.
Tatum on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Kuukas , right into the meat.
Kuukas tries a head kick but it misses.
Kuukas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tatum.
Tatum throws a sloppy head kick and Kuukas moves out of range easily.

Tatum tries for a takedown but Kuukas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Luukas Kuukas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jayson Tatum.

Tatum moves out of range of the leg kick from Kuukas .

Tatum tries to counter with a clinch but Kuukas shakes him off and moves away.
Tatum shoots in and drives through. Kuukas sprawls well.
Tatum misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kuukas throws a head kick but Tatum moves out of range.
Tatum looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Tatum tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kuukas defends well and Tatum ends up having to push Kuukas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tatum shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tatum showed some decent athleticism there.
Kuukas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tatum has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Kuukas defend it? Tatum steps over the head and cranks it - Kuukas is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Tatum!
