Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerome Steel (ranked 5606 p4p, 406 weight class) and Zyd Xyddd (ranked 4303 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel is looking to clinch but Xyddd is avoiding it.
Steel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Xyddd scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Xyddd scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Steel throws a combination that misses
and Xyddd counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Steel uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Xyddd.
Xyddd on the wrong end of a nice hook.

It looks like Zyd Xyddd has been cut.
Xyddd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Xyddd scores with a shot to the body.
Steel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Xyddd swings for the body but Steel moves out of range.
Xyddd avoids a punch combination nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Xyddd lands a big head kick that sends Steel tumbling to the mat! Xyddd takes a step backwards and waves Steel back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Gerome Steel has been cut.
Xyddd finds Steel's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Steel flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Xyddd lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Steel will be OK.
