Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chang Walsh (ranked 24747 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takahashi Takasuke (ranked 5436 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chang Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takahashi Takasuke!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takasuke looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Walsh manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Walsh has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Takasuke avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Takasuke has had enough of the clinch but Walsh keeps him there for the moment.
Takasuke stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Walsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Takasuke changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walsh looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Takasuke stands up.

Takasuke closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Walsh did well to prevent Takasuke getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takasuke seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Takasuke passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Walsh!
Takasuke wants to take his opponent's back but Walsh doesn't allow it.

Takasuke working for a submission but Walsh is keeping him at bay.
Walsh is trying to escape the mount.

Walsh is trying to stand but he's just given Takasuke his back.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Even with his hooks in, Takasuke manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Walsh manages to reverse the position and now he's in Takasuke's guard. Nice work there by Walsh.
Takasuke has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Let's hope that Takasuke has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Takasuke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Walsh is aware though and is defending well.
Takasuke wants to stand up but Walsh is controlling him.
Takasuke wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Takasuke has a closed guard, preventing Walsh from standing up.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Takasuke manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Takasuke ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Takasuke no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Walsh is fighting to break Takasuke's control of his arms but Takasuke is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Walsh gets to his feet - Takasuke follows without any prompting.

Takasuke drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Walsh is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takahashi Takasuke dominated that round.
That's time! Walsh's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Takasuke throws a sloppy head kick and Walsh moves out of range easily.

and Walsh counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Takasuke shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Walsh makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Walsh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Takahashi Takasuke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Takasuke moves into the clinch.

Walsh is trying to pull guard but Takasuke has him pressed against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Walsh.

Takasuke lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Takasuke not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Walsh is not content to let Takasuke control the position.
Walsh avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Takasuke.

Takasuke manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Takasuke has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Takasuke has managed to clinch.
Walsh goes for a takedown attempt but Takasuke pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chang Walsh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Takasuke throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Walsh was covering up waiting for the punch and Takasuke finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Walsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walsh wants to sweep here but Takasuke controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Takasuke is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Walsh pulls Takasuke in close to his closed guard and prevents Takasuke from doing any damage or advancing position.
Takasuke passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Walsh wants to control but Takasuke postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takahashi Takasuke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Walsh is working an open guard so Takasuke takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Takasuke decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Walsh is trying to escape back to his feet but Takasuke uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Walsh tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Takasuke wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The strikes coming from Takasuke are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Takasuke has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Takasuke fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walsh, pushing him back against the cage.
Takasuke prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Walsh is trying to stall.

Walsh breaks from the clinch.

Takasuke shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Walsh is trying to defend but Takasuke finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Walsh kicks off Takasuke and gets to his feet.

Takasuke misses with a double jab

and Walsh counters by moving into the clinch.
Walsh lands a nice elbow.

Takasuke pulls Walsh into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Takasuke looking for a sweep. Not yet Takasuke, not yet.
Walsh seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Takasuke looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Takahashi Takasuke.
I've got Takasuke winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
