Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Zaldiar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Alberto Pergolini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pergolini has chosen Tim Ripper Owens - Play my game as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fernando Alberto Pergolini!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaldiar avoids the head kick by Pergolini.
Pergolini tries to clinch there but Zaldiar circles away.
Nice uppercut lands for Zaldiar. That snapped Pergolini's head back.
Pergolini misses with a two punch combination.
Zaldiar shoots in looking for a takedown. Pergolini tries to sprawl out of it but Zaldiar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pergolini manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A solid leg kick lands there for Pergolini.

Zaldiar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Zaldiar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pergolini is bucking up trying to escape but Zaldiar cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Pergolini is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Pergolini wants to try and get back to his feet.

A nice elbow there by Zaldiar.
Pergolini is trying to stand.
Zaldiar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zaldiar looking to control but Pergolini is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
BOOM! Zaldiar connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Pergolini really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zaldiar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pergolini looks gassed!
Pergolini is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Zaldiar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Zaldiar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pergolini for as long as he can get away with.
Zaldiar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Zaldiar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pergolini looks a forlorn figure.

Zaldiar is working for a guillotine from mount but Pergolini frees his head quite easily.

Zaldiar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Zaldiar tries to control but Pergolini wriggling away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zaldiar breaks from Pergolini's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Pergolini is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Zaldiar controlling the position easily from mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Alex Zaldiar just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Pergolini misses with a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Zaldiar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Zaldiar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pergolini wants to get back to his feet.

Zaldiar is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Pergolini tries to close the distance and clinch but Zaldiar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pergolini is looking to land body kicks.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Zaldiar.
Zaldiar is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Zaldiar scores with a jab.
Pergolini is breathing heavily.
Pergolini stuffs the takedown attempt from Zaldiar. Zaldiar gets slowly back to his feet.

Zaldiar clinches.
Zaldiar goes for a takedown attempt but Pergolini pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pergolini tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Zaldiar scores a takedown into full mount!
Zaldiar controlling the pace for now.
Pergolini is in a horrible position here. Zaldiar smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Pergolini is trying to stand up.
Zaldiar controlling from the full mount.
Pergolini wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Zaldiar content just to control the position here.
Pergolini is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Zaldiar has taken his back!

Will Zaldiar go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Zaldiar just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Pergolini is trying to stand back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Pergolini is trapped and Zaldiar is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Zaldiar struggling to keep hold of the position.
Pergolini is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Zaldiar.
Pergolini is trying to get back to his feet but Zaldiar has full control of the position and if anything, Pergolini has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Zaldiar is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Pergolini with him. Pergolini is trying to defend but Zaldiar has an arm under the chin now! Pergolini grimaces and is forced to tap out!
