Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Katu Partio (ranked 86 p4p, 10 weight class) and Pat Verbeek (ranked 172 p4p, 22 weight class). Partio comes to the cage accompanied by Sininen sunnuntai. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Verbeek shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Partio crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Verbeek - the referee stops the clock and Partio gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Verbeek. Partio manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Verbeek lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Verbeek with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Partio to score with a decent uppercut.

Partio is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Partio drops his hands momentarily. Verbeek doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Partio staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Partio doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
