PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifford Walsh (ranked 5806 p4p, 0 weight class) and A A Ron Jenkins (ranked 5306 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Iron Man. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walsh shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Jenkins scores with a kick to the midsection.

Jenkins darts in and clinches Walsh up against the cage.
Jenkins softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

It looks like Clifford Walsh has been cut.
Jenkins connects with a knee to the head.
Walsh's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Jenkins tries a knee to the head but Walsh blocks it.
Jenkins has a couple of punches blocked by Walsh.
A left hand lands to the body for Jenkins.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jenkins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slapping body kick lands there for Jenkins.

Jenkins closes the distance and pushes Walsh back into the cage.
Jenkins tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jenkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jenkins fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Walsh has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Jenkins has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jenkins tries a knee to the head but Walsh blocks it.
Jenkins connects with a knee to the head.
Jenkins with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Jenkins lands an elbow inside that Walsh shrugs off.
Walsh wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jenkins has him pressed against the cage.
Walsh is trying to break the clinch but Jenkins is controlling him.

Jenkins breaks the clinch.

Jenkins closes the distance and pushes Walsh back into the cage.

Jenkins lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Walsh backwards.

Walsh is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jenkins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jenkins lands a front kick.
Walsh walks forward, straight into a front kick from Jenkins.
Walsh is breathing heavily.

Jenkins has managed to clinch.
Nice elbow from Jenkins.
Oh Walsh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jenkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Crunch! Jenkins slams his shin into Walsh's torso.
Walsh seems to have got his legs back now.
Jenkins lands a brutal head kick. Walsh looks out on his feet and Jenkins throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

A determined A A Ron Jenkins didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
