Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yaniv Schulmann (ranked 796 p4p, 36 weight class) and Ace Rob (ranked 1048 p4p, 55 weight class). Yaniv Schulmann could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ace Rob's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yaniv Schulmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ace Rob!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rob walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rob checks a leg kick nicely.

Rob scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
My spies in Training Center inform me that Rob has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Schulmann is looking to control Rob's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Schulmann avoid being mounted?

Rob seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rob is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Schulmann doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rob.
Rob passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Schulmann!

Rob moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Schulmann has worked his arm free - good work by Schulmann!

Rob is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Schulmann has escaped the position, nice work there.
Schulmann is trying to get back to half guard.

Schulmann is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rob off and has taken his back!
Schulmann is trying to stick to Rob's back but Rob is turning into Schulmann. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Schulmann's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rob.

Schulmann is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schulmann takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Schulmann is looking for a kimura but Rob is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Schulmann to get the leverage.

Schulmann is looking to take a break and control but Rob is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Schulmann really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Schulmann lands a nice short elbow.

Schulmann is trying to work for a kimura but Rob is defending well.
Rob wants to get back to full guard.
Schulmann is keen to just control but Rob is a slippery customer.
Rob makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rob.
Schulmann makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Rob working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Schulmann doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Schulmann manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rob manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Schulmann manages to get himself to full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ace Rob dominated that round.
That's time! Schulmann's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Rob shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Schulmann is nestled in close to Rob, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Rob wants to control but Schulmann is keeping busy.
Rob is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Schulmann is staying active.
Rob is looking to improve his position.
Schulmann working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Schulmann is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rob is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Rob is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Schulmann has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rob to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Schulmann is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rob pulls down on the head and he's put Schulmann to sleep! This one is all over!
