Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kalja Maha (ranked 5590 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory MacDonald (ranked 5995 p4p, 438 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rory MacDonald!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Donatello Bradman and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maha fails with the takedown
and MacDonald counters with a nice uppercut.
MacDonald steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Maha. That one must have hurt.
Maha moves out of range of the body kick.
Kalja Maha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maha fails in his attempt to clinch.
MacDonald rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maha moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Maha leaves MacDonald with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Maha lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but MacDonald circles away quickly and effectively.
Maha shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has MacDonald pinned against the cage. MacDonald gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maha throws a right and a left that both miss.

MacDonald drives through and clinches with Maha against the cage.
MacDonald misses with a shot to the kidneys.
MacDonald can't get the takedown.

Maha escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Maha shoots in looking for a takedown. MacDonald tries to sprawl out of it but Maha keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. MacDonald manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

MacDonald is trying to break the clinch but Maha is controlling him.

Maha throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! MacDonald escapes and throws Maha's legs to the side, diving into side control!

MacDonald advances to full mount.
Maha regains half guard.
MacDonald content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rory MacDonald will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


MacDonald avoids the head kick by Maha.
MacDonald is looking for the big counter here.
MacDonald fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Maha avoids it really well and circles away.

Maha gets tackled into the cage by MacDonald. MacDonald maintains the clinch.
MacDonald jumps guard but Maha stands there with MacDonald around his waist. MacDonald gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
MacDonald is pushing Maha up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Maha tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. MacDonald smiles and moves away.

Maha moves in looking to clinch but MacDonald pushes him off.
MacDonald lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Maha doesn't manage to clinch there - MacDonald circles away.
MacDonald shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maha as he avoids it easily.
Maha tries to clinch up but MacDonald circles away and keeps his distance.
Maha wants to clinch.
And MacDonald tries to counter it with a takedown but Maha pushes his down on his head and steps out.

MacDonald looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Maha controls MacDonald momentarily but MacDonald frees himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
MacDonald sitting in guard here, content to control.
Maha is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacDonald is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Rory MacDonald seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Rory MacDonald showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

I would just about give that final round to Rory MacDonald.
I've got MacDonald winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
