Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anibal Carney (ranked 25118 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khabib Bihal (ranked 7505 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anibal Carney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Khabib Bihal!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bihal forces Carney back against the cage and clinches.
Bihal avoiding damage.

Bihal lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Carney wants to stand back up but Bihal manages to pass into side control.
Carney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Carney is trying to improve his position.
Carney is trying to get back to his feet.

Bihal goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Carney has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bihal but great work by Carney.
Bihal wants to get back to his feet.
Bihal is looking for a sweep.

Carney decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bihal to his feet.
Carney tries to clinch but Bihal is having none of it.
Carney shoots for a double leg takedown but Bihal sprawls well. He's pushed Carney's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bihal has managed to clinch.
Bihal keeps control of Carney as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A frustrated look appears on Carney's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Carney keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bihal's efforts to push away.
Carney tries to break free but Bihal pushes him back against the cage.
Carney looking to throw knees to the head but Bihal is blocking nicely.
Carney is trying to break the clinch but Bihal is controlling him.

Bihal decides to pull guard.

Bihal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carney doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carney manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bihal isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Carney stacks Bihal on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Carney!
Bihal seems a little lost for a moment, as Carney dominates the positioning.
Bihal is trying to get back to his feet.

Carney stands up.

Carney gets caught napping as Bihal dives in and scores a takedown. Carney manages to retain guard.

Bihal wants to stand and escape but instead Carney has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bihal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carney is one step ahead there.

Bihal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carney defends well.

Bihal has an active guard here but Carney has managed to pass into half guard.

Carney decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Bihal darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Carney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
It looks like Bihal is going to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bihal is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Anibal Carney will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Carney shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bihal as he jumps to the side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carney.

Bihal has managed to clinch.
Carney is trying to break the clinch but Bihal is controlling him.
Bihal lands with a light punch inside.
Still in the clinch, Carney scores with a nice short uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carney lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Stalling in the clinch from Bihal.
A frustrated look appears on Carney's face as he tries to break the clinch.
We've been informed that Bihal has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Bihal throws a punch but it's blocked by Carney.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carney tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Bihal is trying to trip Carney. He has hold of a leg but Carney is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Bihal persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Carney has a closed guard, preventing Bihal from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bihal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bihal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bihal has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carney is proving hard to escape from.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bihal drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carney manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bihal has Carney in his guard.


Bihal has his foot on Carney's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carney works his way back into a safe position though.

Bihal looking for subs off his back but Carney has passed one foot through into half guard.
Bihal is trying to stand.

Carney trying to control from half guard but Bihal is working away.
Bihal scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Carney manages to mount him!
Carney won't let Bihal get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Bihal is in all sorts of trouble here.

Carney is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Carney shoots in looking for a takedown. Bihal tries to sprawl out of it but Carney keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bihal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anibal Carney. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bihal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bihal wants it to stay on the feet.

Bihal drives through and clinches with Carney against the cage.
Carney wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Bihal has him pressed against the cage.
Bihal has had enough of the clinch but Carney keeps him there for the moment.
Bihal is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Carney keeps control of Bihal as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Bihal manages to pull guard.

Carney got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bihal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carney has managed to get both his arms back between Bihal's legs - danger averted.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carney has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bihal is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Khabib Bihal will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Bihal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carney to the mat! Carney manages to get full guard.

Carney pushes Bihal off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Khabib Bihal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bihal.

Carney bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carney closes the distance and clinches up with Bihal, looking for a takedown. Carney pushes Bihal against the cage but Bihal circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bihal closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Carney prevents Bihal from breaking the clinch.

Bihal jumps into guard, dragging Carney to the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bihal has his feet on Carney's thighs here. He's pushed Carney off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Carney screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Khabib Bihal!
A very excited looking Khabib Bihal made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
