Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nuke Laloosh (ranked 2122 p4p, 318 weight class) and Alexander Yakovlev (ranked 2650 p4p, 375 weight class). Yakovlev has chosen Maroon 5 - Sugar as his entrance music. Alexander Yakovlev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nuke Laloosh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Yakovlev!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yakovlev drives through with a takedown into guard.
Laloosh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yakovlev throws an elbow that misses. Laloosh uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yakovlev's guard. Nice move by Laloosh!

Laloosh wants to pass the guard but Yakovlev is keeping the position.
Yakovlev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Yakovlev pulls Laloosh in close to his closed guard and prevents Laloosh from doing any damage or advancing position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Laloosh looking for a guillotine here but Yakovlev defends easily.

Laloosh has his foot on Yakovlev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Yakovlev works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yakovlev slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Yakovlev is pushing down on Laloosh's leg trying to pass to half guard. Laloosh is fighting to maintain full guard but Yakovlev has managed to sneak the leg through.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Yakovlev is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Yakovlev takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Laloosh tries to hold on but Yakovlev postures up.
Yakovlev looking to control but Laloosh is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Let's hope that Yakovlev has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Laloosh wants to control but Yakovlev is having none of it.

Laloosh tries to lock up and control but Yakovlev gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Laloosh is squirming around, avoiding Yakovlev's attempts to control the action.

Yakovlev is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yakovlev is pressing down on Laloosh's thigh, looking to free his foot. Laloosh is holding on for now.

That's time! Laloosh's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Yakovlev checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Nice uppercut lands for Yakovlev. That snapped Laloosh's head back.
A lazy left from Laloosh finds it's target.

It looks like Alexander Yakovlev has been cut.

Laloosh scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Yakovlev doesn't seem bothered though.
Yakovlev fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Yakovlev thuds a left hand into Laloosh's body.
Yakovlev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A little feinted left hand from Laloosh on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Laloosh tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Yakovlev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Laloosh fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Yakovlev tries to stall but Laloosh uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Laloosh tries to pull guard but Yakovlev holds him up against the cage and eventually Laloosh drops back down to his feet.

Laloosh seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Laloosh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yakovlev swats him away and circles back towards the center.
It seemed like Yakovlev was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Yakovlev moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

and Yakovlev counters with a shoot takedown. Laloosh fights it but they end up in guard.

Yakovlev wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Laloosh is now in half guard.
Yakovlev moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Laloosh is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Yakovlev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Laloosh defends well and Yakovlev ends up having to push Laloosh into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Yakovlev holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Yakovlev drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Laloosh gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Nuke Laloosh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Yakovlev.
Yakovlev is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on Yakovlev - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Well, if Yakovlev is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Yakovlev is staying tight to Laloosh's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Laloosh wants to control but Yakovlev postures up.
Laloosh is looking for a sweep.
Yakovlev advances nicely into full mount.
Yakovlev controlling the pace for now.
Laloosh tries to hold on but Yakovlev pushes him away.
Laloosh sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Yakovlev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laloosh keeps working.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alexander Yakovlev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Yakovlev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
