Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chet Mckenzie (ranked 24534 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Jomaro (ranked 5500 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chet Mckenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oleg Jomaro!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jomaro gets caught flat footed, as Mckenzie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mckenzie trying to control but Jomaro is working from the bottom.
Jomaro pulls Mckenzie in close to his closed guard and prevents Mckenzie from doing any damage or advancing position.
Mckenzie throws an elbow that misses. Jomaro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mckenzie's guard. Nice move by Jomaro!

Jomaro controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mckenzie could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mckenzie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jomaro defends well.
Mckenzie wants to sweep here but Jomaro controlling him for the moment.
Mckenzie is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Mckenzie can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jomaro controls the pace.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jomaro is fighting to break Mckenzie's control of his arms but Mckenzie is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Mckenzie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jomaro did well to prevent Mckenzie getting side control.

Jomaro preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Jomaro is controlling Mckenzie's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mckenzie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mckenzie darts in and clinches Jomaro up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mckenzie gets a trip takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chet Mckenzie dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mckenzie jabs Jomaro to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Mckenzie gets a takedown into half guard.
Jomaro holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Mckenzie prevents Jomaro from improving his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mckenzie is looking for a kimura here.

Mckenzie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jomaro doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mckenzie.

Jomaro is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jomaro's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Mckenzie shoots in and gets a takedown into Jomaro's guard.
Mckenzie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mckenzie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Mckenzie is looking to work some ground and pound but Jomaro has wrist control.

Mckenzie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mckenzie trying to control the position from guard on top but Jomaro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jomaro pulls Mckenzie in close to prevent any damage.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Mckenzie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mckenzie rushes Jomaro and presses him up against the cage.
Mckenzie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jomaro can do to turn this around?

Mckenzie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mckenzie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mckenzie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Chet Mckenzie dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Mckenzie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mckenzie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mckenzie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jomaro keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
You can see the frustration on Jomaro's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Who's going to make the next move?

Mckenzie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mckenzie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mckenzie swings around for an armbar but Jomaro sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mckenzie's guard.
Jomaro won't allow Mckenzie to sweep him here.

Mckenzie wants to hit a switch here but Jomaro passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mckenzie there!

Jomaro is continuing to stall.
Mckenzie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jomaro controlling from the full mount.
Jomaro trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jomaro controlling his opponent.
Mckenzie can't escape the position.
Mckenzie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Chet Mckenzie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jomaro prevents Mckenzie from getting the reversal.
Jomaro controlling the pace for now.

Mckenzie is trying desperately to improve position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Oleg Jomaro.
Well Mckenzie has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
