The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hasselhoff shoots for a double leg takedown but Burandt sprawls well. He's pushed Hasselhoff's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Burandt raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Burandt closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Burandt throws a head punch that misses.
Burandt breaks from the clinch.
Burandt throws a right and a left that both miss.
A quick step to the side and Hasselhoff tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Burandt has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hasselhoff is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Burandt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Burandt is looking to advance position but Hasselhoff won't allow it.
Burandt is looking to take a break and control but Hasselhoff is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
