Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Orlando Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marv Allen!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Murphy manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Allen keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Murphy stalls.
Murphy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Murphy has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Allen is trying to keep an underhook but Murphy manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Allen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Murphy is working away from the top position though.
Murphy is controlling the pace.
Murphy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Allen for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Allen wants to control but Murphy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Allen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Murphy was covering up waiting for the punch and Allen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Murphy working for a triangle but Allen defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Allen trying to control but Murphy is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murphy pushes a forearm under Allen's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Allen is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
