These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weddy goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Moe Skitto has been cut.
Skitto swings for the body but Weddy moves out of range.
Weddy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Weddy tries a head kick but it misses.
Skitto just misses with a punch to the body.
Skitto goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Skitto lands a nice looking body kick.

Weddy lands a big head kick that sends Skitto tumbling to the mat! Weddy takes a step backwards and waves Skitto back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Skitto drives through with a takedown into Weddy's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Weddy has his feet on Skitto's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Skitto lands with a good body shot.
Weddy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Weddy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Skitto throws out the jab.
Skitto tries to bum rush Weddy with a series of wild strikes but Weddy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Skitto fails to land with a series of punches.
Skitto misses with a looping left.
Whack! Weddy lands a heavy head kick that drops Skitto. The ref tackles Weddy to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Skitto was done.

In his post fight interview, Shamal Weddy started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
