Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dick Avery (ranked 5473 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Jomaro (ranked 7378 p4p, 0 weight class). Oleg Jomaro has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dick Avery's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oleg Jomaro!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Avery gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Avery could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Avery wants to sweep here but Jomaro controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Avery can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jomaro controls the pace.
Avery trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jomaro is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Avery takes the fight into the clinch.

Jomaro has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Avery clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Jomaro's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Jomaro is trying to stick to Avery's back but Avery is turning into Jomaro. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Jomaro's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Avery.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Avery stands and steps away. Jomaro gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Avery rushes Jomaro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jomaro turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jomaro manages to end up in side control.
Avery tries to improve position but can't.
The referee asks Jomaro politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jomaro prefers to stall for the moment though.
It looks like Jomaro might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Jomaro has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Avery is looking to regain half guard here but Jomaro keeps moving and retains side control.

Avery tries to sprawl but Jomaro drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Avery tries to roll over but Jomaro keeps him under control.

Avery wants to improve his position but Jomaro is controlling well.
Jomaro is taking a breather. Avery says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jomaro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jomaro is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jomaro with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
Jomaro prevents Avery from improving his position.
Jomaro keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Jomaro has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jomaro is continuing to stall.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Avery is trying to get back to full guard.
Jomaro seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Oleg Jomaro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Avery's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Avery enables Jomaro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Avery manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jomaro is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Avery!
Avery has given up his back here. Will Jomaro look for the submission or keep pounding away?
I would not like to be Avery right now.

Avery tries to roll but Jomaro sticks to his back.

Oleg Jomaro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jomaro winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
