PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Klay Dee (ranked 1221 p4p, 68 weight class) and Conrad Poohs (ranked 2735 p4p, 305 weight class). Dee comes to the cage accompanied by Tyler, The Creator - Who Dat Boy. Poohs has chosen Born of Fire as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Klay Dee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conrad Poohs!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dee has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Poohs.
Dee scoring well with a low kick there.
Poohs takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Poohs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dee moves away.
Dee tests Poohs's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Poohs displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dee throws out the jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Poohs! But no joy.
A head kick from Dee lands but Poohs takes it in his stride.
Dee scores with a hook to the body. Poohs takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Klay Dee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dee stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Dee throws a hook but Poohs avoids it easily.

Dee connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Poohs uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dee.
Poohs chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dee can pounce on him.
Dee tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Nice uppercut lands for Dee. That snapped Poohs's head back.
Poohs lands a leg kick that knocks Dee off balance momentarily.
Dee is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Poohs throws the left hand but Dee avoids the punch easily.
Dee appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Dee lands with a good body shot.
Dee lands a right hook to the body.
Dee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Poohs.
A head kick from Dee lands but Poohs takes it in his stride.
Poohs takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Poohs avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Dee goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Dee thuds his right hand into Poohs's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Dee walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Poohs checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Poohs steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Dee.
Dee lands a lovely overhand right.
Dee ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Poohs moves away.

Poohs's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Poohs throws an overhand right that lands on Dee's shoulder, as Dee tries to avoid the shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Poohs in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Dee digs a right hand into Poohs's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Poohs's gas tank.

Dee turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dee manages to end up in side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Poohs keeps working.

Dee lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Dee fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Poohs turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Dee here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Our winner, Conrad Poohs, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
