Nambu has chosen Jōdo Shinshū Nembutsu Chanting as his entrance music. Cristobal Watts had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cristobal Watts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Genri Nambu!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nambu leaves Watts with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A punch combination from Nambu misses.
Watts fails with a takedown attempt.
Watts shoots for a double leg takedown but Nambu sprawls well. He's pushed Watts's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cristobal Watts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nambu feints a jab promting Watts to slip. Nambu then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Watts slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Cristobal Watts has been cut.
Watts looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nambu is fending him off so far but Watts persists. Nope, Nambu circles away and we're back to standing.
Nambu is looking for the big counter here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for Nambu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As Nambu tries to get set, Watts tries to push him back and clinch up but Nambu manages to avoid the attempt.
Nice straight punches there by Nambu. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Nambu.

Watts forces Nambu back against the cage and clinches.
Watts tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nambu avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nambu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nambu, as that shot connected.

Watts rushes Nambu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Watts fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Watts stalling in the clinch but Nambu improves position.
Watts slows down the pace here.
Watts misses with a body punch.
Watts is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Nambu is defending well for now.

Nambu breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Watts's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nambu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Watts scrambles back to his feet.
Nambu rushes Watts with punches - Watts moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Watts goes down! Nambu follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Genri Nambu!
During a confident post fight interview, Genri Nambu thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
