PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dill Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doe's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Amazing. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe doesn't manage to clinch there - Ripper circles away.
A thudding body kick lands there by Doe!
Ripper avoids the head kick by Doe.
Doe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ripper looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Doe is fending him off so far but Ripper persists. Nope, Doe circles away and we're back to standing.

Doe throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ripper misses with a takedown attempt - Doe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

It looks like Jack Ripper has been cut.

Ripper connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Doe tries to land a front kick but Ripper steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Ripper ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Doe is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ripper.
Doe looks to land a body kick but Ripper moved away.

Ripper is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Doe manages to break the clinch.

Ripper tries to keep at a distance but Doe has taken the fight into the clinch.
Doe wants to break free but Ripper has control.
Doe misses with an elbow over the top.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Ripper has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Doe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dill Doe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Ripper.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Ripper counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Doe!

Ripper lands with a nice combination. Doe backs away looking to recover.
Ripper tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Doe paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Dill Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ripper cracks Doe with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Ripper counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ripper.
Doe throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ripper blocks it with crossed arms.
Ripper dodges an elbow strike from Doe.
Doe pushes off an fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

and Ripper counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Doe thinking.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ripper looks to land a combination. Doe sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Ripper counters with a three punch combo that has Doe backing up. Doe nods at Ripper to acknowledge the strikes.

Doe using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Ripper has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ripper wants to improve his position but Doe is controlling well.
Doe tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Ripper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Ripper counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Doe thinking.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ripper tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Doe just stands there and leans against the cage.

Ripper is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ripper looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Doe has hold of Ripper's hands but Ripper slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Doe looks like he's trying to stand up.
Dill Doe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ripper not doing much here.

Jack Ripper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ripper winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
