Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yusuke Yamanashi (ranked 7526 p4p, 431 weight class) and Perdue Willshire (ranked 22525 p4p, 462 weight class). Perdue Willshire has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Yusuke Yamanashi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yusuke Yamanashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Perdue Willshire!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yamanashi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Willshire quickly recovers to half guard.
Yamanashi stalling.
Willshire has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yamanashi is working away from the top position though.
Willshire is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Yamanashi wants to pass to mount but Willshire is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Willshire is not content to let Yamanashi control the position.

Willshire wants to get back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Yamanashi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Yamanashi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Willshire swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Willshire rushes Yamanashi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Yamanashi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Willshire stalls.

Willshire lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
The fighters circle momentarily. Yamanashi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yamanashi stands up and beckons Willshire to his feet.

Yamanashi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Willshire was covering up waiting for the punch and Yamanashi finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Willshire looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yamanashi is one step ahead there.

Yamanashi tries to free his leg and advance position but Willshire is retaining full guard.

Willshire is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Yamanashi is controlling him.

Willshire throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Willshire is looking to reverse the position.

Yamanashi is trying to get an arm triangle but Willshire is defending well.

Willshire tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Yamanashi is really struggling to control Willshire but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Willshire rolls, trying to escape but Yamanashi keeps control of the position.

Yusuke Yamanashi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Willshire is trying to get back to his feet but Yamanashi has full control of the position and if anything, Willshire has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Yamanashi wants to control but Willshire is keeping busy.

Yamanashi controlling well, preventing Willshire from escaping the position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Willshire wants to escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yamanashi is persistently looking for the submission but Willshire is defending it well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Willshire misses with an uppercut. Yamanashi saw that one coming.

Yamanashi throws a sloppy head kick and Willshire moves out of range easily.
Willshire is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Willshire has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Yamanashi has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Willshire has the hooks in. Yamanashi is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Perdue Willshire comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Willshire has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
