The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bader throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cherno misses with a body kick.
Bader looks to land a right hand but Cherno moved out of range.
Bader dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cherno moves away from the strike by Bader.
Cherno tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bader manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bader throws a jab when Cherno was well out of range.

It looks like Rapsputin Cherno has been cut.
Cherno seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Cherno blocks a jab.
A jab from Bader misses.
Cherno tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bader defends well and Cherno ends up having to push Bader into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bader throws a jab but it's blocked by Cherno.
Bader smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Chet Bader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bader misses with a lunging right hand

and Cherno counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cherno wants to work for an arm triangle but Bader is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Cherno wants to control but Bader is keeping him busy.
Cherno is pressing down on Bader's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bader is holding on for now.

Cherno is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bader is just riding it out for now. Cherno eventually gives up the hold.
Cherno is trying to control the action in half guard but Bader is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Bader is trying to control Cherno's posture. Cherno takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Bader! Cherno is rotating here... this could be the end... Bader is out! Cherno has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
