Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Deair Money!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tai Musaki !
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Musaki moves into the clinch.
Money is pressed up against the cage. Musaki has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Money down to the mat. Money avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Musaki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Money trying his best to control but Musaki has mounted him.
Money bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Money trying to control the position from guard on top but Musaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Money stands up over Musaki , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Money postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Money wants to pass the guard but Musaki is keeping the position.
Musaki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Musaki is thwarting Money's attempts to control the position.
Money slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Musaki is in close to Money's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Money controls Musaki momentarily but Musaki frees himself.
Musaki engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Money is looking to sweep but instead, Musaki has passed into half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Musaki tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Money.
Money could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Musaki performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Money wants to control but Musaki is keeping busy.
Money wants to get back to full guard.
Money throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Musaki slows the pace down in half guard.
Money scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Musaki manages to mount him!
Money is trying desperately to improve position.
Money avoids a series of strikes thrown by Musaki .
Musaki putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Money tries to hold on but Musaki pushes him away.

Money is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Money is in all sorts of trouble here.
Musaki wants to control the pace but Money is squirming around nicely.
Money wants to control but Musaki is having none of it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Musaki darts in and clinches Money up against the cage.
Money is trying to break the clinch but Musaki is controlling him.
Musaki gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Money.

Money turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Money manages to end up in side control.
Musaki is trying to control Money's posture but Money avoids it.
Musaki is not content to let Money control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Musaki wants to get back to his feet but Money drags him back down.

Musaki tries to bench press Money off him but Money keeps the position.
You can see the frustration on Musaki 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Money wants to lay and pray for a moment but Musaki keeps working.
Musaki seems a little lost for a moment, as Money dominates the positioning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Musaki looking for subs off his back but Money has passed one foot through into half guard.
Musaki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Money looks to land a strike but Musaki avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Money would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Musaki keeping moving, preventing Money from controlling successfully.
Money is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Musaki is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Musaki ducks right into an uppercut from Money.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Musaki looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Money throwing a counter right hand but Musaki manages to avoid it.
Money tries to clinch there but Musaki circles away.
Deair Money is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Musaki misses with a takedown
and Money counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Musaki closes the distance and pushes Money back into the cage.
Money tries to pull guard but Musaki forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Money is trying to trip Musaki . He has hold of a leg but Musaki is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Money persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Musaki keeping full guard, as Money tries to pass.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deair Money dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Musaki doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Money moves into the clinch.

Musaki needs to keep his hands up - Money had a free shot at his head there.

Left hook, right uppercut from Money.
Money tries to clinch there but Musaki circles away.
Money fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Musaki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Money sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Musaki somewhat.
Money lands a nice hook to Musaki 's body. Musaki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Musaki counters with a takedown into side control.
Money is pushing Musaki 's head away, looking to escape. Musaki manages to hold on to the position though.
The strikes coming from Musaki are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Musaki trying to control the position but Money is working away.

Musaki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Musaki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Money manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Musaki is positioning himself well to prevent Money advancing to mount.

Money trying to pass the guard but Musaki defending well.
Money wants to control but Musaki is keeping him busy.

Musaki tries for a takedown but Money sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Deair Money has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tai Musaki .
Horrible takedown attempt by Money or perhaps it was just good defense by Musaki , which made it look bad.

Money drives through with a takedown into Musaki 's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
