Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Azz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harry Azz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mir showed some decent athleticism there.
Mir stops Azz from getting back to his feet.
Azz is staying active underneath Mir, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Azz is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Mir pulls his head out easily.
Azz tries to kick Mir off but Mir keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Azz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Mir seems to be looking for submissions.
Azz is not content to let Mir control the position.

Azz is defending against the submission attempts here by Mir.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mir fails to land with a series of punches.
Azz misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mir.
Azz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Mir takes a swing at Azz's ribcage but misses.
Mir steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Azz.

Mir shoots in and bounces Azz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Azz trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Mir wants to control from the top but Azz keeps moving.

Mir avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mir wants to pass the guard but Azz is keeping the position.

Azz looking for a guillotine here but Mir defends easily.

Azz working for a triangle but Mir defends it easily.

Azz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mir escapes and throws Azz's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Mir tries for a kimura but Azz is defending well.

Azz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Azz is trying to get back to full guard.
Azz tries to kick Mir off in order to stand up. Mir Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Mir wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Azz, who protects the arm well.
Azz is looking for a sweep.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mir stands up and beckons Azz to his feet.
Harry Azz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Azz looks to land a combination but Mir avoids it well.
Azz slips a jab from Mir.
Jab by Azz.
Azz misses with a straight left.
Nice shot lands for Azz.
A head kick misses from Mir.

Mir drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mir is looking to take a break and control but Azz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Azz looks to move to half guard but instead Mir has passed into mount! Damn!
Azz keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Mir dominated that round.
That's time! Azz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mir throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Azz on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Azz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mir sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Azz throws a big shot that misses.
Azz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mir moves out of range as Azz strikes.
Mir looks to land a combination. Azz sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Harry Azz has been cut.
Mir bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Azz regains full guard. Nicely done.

Azz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mir stacks Azz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mir!

Mir thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Azz regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Azz gets full guard.
Mir slips nicely into half guard.

Mir is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Azz is just riding it out for now. Mir eventually gives up the hold.
Azz makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Azz.

Azz has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mir is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Azz.
Azz manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Mir seems to be looking for submissions.

Mir is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Azz is just riding it out for now. Mir eventually gives up the hold.
Mir is breathing heavily.
Azz gets full guard.

Mir stopping the sweep attempt from Azz.

Azz has an active guard here but Mir has managed to pass into half guard.
Azz wants to get back to full guard but Mir has mounted him!
Azz bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Mir had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Azz is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mir Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Azz's back instead.

Azz turns into Mir and is now in his guard.

Azz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mir is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Azz, into his guard.

Azz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Azz looking for subs off his back but Mir has passed one foot through into half guard.

Mir escapes and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Mir showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Harry Azz's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Mir throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Azz throws a series of strikes that have Mir backpedaling.


It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.

Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Frank Mir has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mir pushing down on Azz's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Azz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mir wants to take a breather but Azz is having none of it.
Azz has a hand on Mir's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mir takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Mir is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Azz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mir cracks Azz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Azz is trying to escape the mount.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Azz is working hard here to advance position.
Harry Azz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mir stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Azz throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mir's head.
Azz loads up on a big right hand but Mir slips the punch.
Mir tries to land a leg kick but Azz saw it coming and moves away.
Azz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Mir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Azz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mir gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mir drops back looking for a leg! Azz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Azz manages to kick Mir off! Mir jumps back into Azz's guard.
Azz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mir manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Azz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Azz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mir is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mir has escaped and now he's on top!

Azz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Azz working for submissions but it's allowed Mir to get to half guard.

Frank Mir is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mir wants to control but Azz is keeping him busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
