Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fletcher Weber (ranked 6391 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Steam (ranked 5654 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Steam's choice of entrance music: Scooter. Fletcher Weber has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergey Steam!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steam misses with a takedown attempt - Weber sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Weber appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Weber leaves Steam with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Weber scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Steam makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Steam throws a right hand that Weber ducks under and follows up with a left that Weber also avoids with ease.

Steam pushes Weber up against the cage in a clinch.

Weber jumps guard and drags Steam to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Weber pulls Steam in close to prevent any damage.
Steam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weber swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Weber is pulling down on Steam's head. It's preventing any offense from Steam, at least for the moment.

Steam stops Weber from standing up.
Steam controlling from the top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Weber throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Steam tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Weber is in Steam's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Steam can do anything to dispel that myth.
Steam controls Weber momentarily but Weber frees himself.

Steam seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Steam has eaten all the pies!
Weber wanted to stand there but Steam had control of the position.
Weber looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Steam looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Weber turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Steam tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

I would not like to be Steam right now.
Steam tries to escape the position.
Steam just trying to survive but Weber is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Weber is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fletcher Weber will probably get the nod.
That's time! Weber's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Steam is defended easily by Weber.
Weber tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Steam paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Weber instigates a clinch.
Steam goes for a takedown in the clinch but Weber prevents it.
Weber lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


It looks like Sergey Steam has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Weber works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Weber is standing up over Steam. Steam looks to escape but Weber dives into side control.
Weber will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Steam is trying to control Weber's posture but Weber avoids it.

Steam is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Weber is staying active.
Weber controls the position from side control.
Weber gets to mount! Steam was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Weber sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Steam wants to hold on but Weber pushes him away.
Weber tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Steam trying desperately to get to his feet.
Steam wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Weber keeps control of the position easily here as Steam tries to buck him off.

Weber is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Steam tries to break free.
Weber slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Weber's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Steam tries to escape but Weber has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Weber controlling the position well here. Steam rolled but Weber kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

That's time! Weber's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Steam shoots in looking for a takedown but Weber manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Steam's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Steam moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Fletcher Weber has been cut.

Steam tries to sprawl but Weber drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Steam keeping hold of Weber's head, controlling as best he can.
Weber is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Steam trying to hold on to Weber's head to control him but Weber postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steam wants to get back to full guard but Weber has passed into side control.

Weber advances to full mount.
Steam slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Steam trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Steam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Steam's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Weber pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Weber avoids the attempt from Steam to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steam tries to improve his position but instead Weber has taken his back!

Steam is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Weber gets his way!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Weber gets his hands free as Steam looks to control.

Weber has the hooks in. Steam is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Fletcher Weber overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Weber looking for the choke but no joy.
Steam is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Weber has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sergey Steam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Fletcher Weber is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Fletcher Weber showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Weber, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
