Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Landon Allen (ranked 24737 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Pierre (ranked 5434 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Landon Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pierre closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Allen to the mat! Allen manages to get full guard.
Pierre wants to stand but Allen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pierre slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pierre trying to stand up but can't free himself from Allen's guard.

Pierre has gone for a leg lock! Allen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pierre's guard.


Pierre is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Allen is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen is fighting to break Pierre's control of his arms but Pierre is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Pierre is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pierre wants to sweep here but Allen controlling him for the moment.
Pierre seems keen to control Allen's posture.
Allen's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Allen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Allen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pierre pulls Allen in close to prevent any damage.
Allen won't allow Pierre to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pierre fails with the takedown.
Allen is looking for a counter combo.

Pierre gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Pierre gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Allen is trying to get back to full guard.
Pierre is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Allen!
Pierre takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
It looks like Pierre might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Pierre scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Pierre goes for an armbar but Allen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Allen.
Pierre is looking to stand up but Allen isn't so interested in that idea.

Pierre is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pierre has a closed guard, preventing Allen from standing up.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pierre holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Allen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Pierre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Allen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pierre.

Pierre shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pierre working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pierre wants to free his trapped foot but Allen is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Pierre looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Allen works his way to full guard. Good work.

Pierre stands up over Allen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Pierre decides to stand back up. Pierre steps back and let's Allen get back to his feet.
Allen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pierre manages to avoid it.

Pierre shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Pierre looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Pierre is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Pierre is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Allen wants to improve his position but Pierre is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Pierre fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Allen, pushing him back against the cage.
Allen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pierre has him pressed against the cage.
Allen tries to pull guard but Pierre forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Pierre pulls Allen into guard.
Pierre has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Pierre has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pierre wants to hit a switch here but Allen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Pierre there!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pierre wants to hold on but Allen pushes him away.

Allen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pierre is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pierre stands and steps away. Allen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

John Pierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Pierre winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
