PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boorhannn Udin (ranked 5454 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Hopkins (ranked 5363 p4p, 0 weight class). Udin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Indonesia Raya. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Udin has a takedown stuffed.
Udin looks for a takedown but Hopkins sprawls well.
No luck for Udin with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boorhannn Udin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Udin closes the distance and clinches up with Hopkins, looking for a takedown. Udin pushes Hopkins against the cage but Hopkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hopkins shoots in but Udin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Udin throws a counter high kick but Hopkins was just alert enough to avoid it.
Hopkins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Udin.
Udin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Udin dives in for a single leg takedown but Hopkins sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A nice combination there by Udin.

Udin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hopkins, pushing him back against the cage.
Hopkins tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Udin just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Udin is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Udin successfully pulls guard.

Hopkins is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hopkins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hopkins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hopkins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hopkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Udin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Udin has escaped and now he's on top!

Hopkins is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Udin has his hands clasped together but Hopkins extends and breaks Udin's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Hopkins.
