Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wilburn Snyder (ranked 22783 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marlon Raprier (ranked 5376 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marlon Raprier!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ben Watson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Raprier closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Snyder did well to prevent Raprier getting side control.
Snyder pushes Raprier off but Raprier dives into side control.
Raprier trying to control the action but Snyder is working from the bottom.
Snyder is trying to escape the position but Raprier is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snyder is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Raprier is controlling him well.
Raprier advances nicely into full mount.

Snyder manages to regain half guard. Good work.

A frustrated look appears on Snyder's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Snyder has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Snyder really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Raprier has Snyder pushed against the cage.

Raprier manages to break the clinch.

Raprier drops back looking for a leg! Snyder is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Snyder manages to kick Raprier off! Raprier jumps back into Snyder's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Snyder has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Raprier can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Raprier trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Snyder manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!


Snyder got a little sloppy there for a moment and Raprier has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Snyder has managed to get both his arms back between Raprier's legs - danger averted.
Snyder is working Raprier over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Snyder shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Raprier as he jumps to the side.
Raprier swats away the attempt to clinch by Snyder.
Snyder moves in looking to clinch but Raprier pushes him off.
Snyder misses with a takedown attempt - Raprier sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Raprier has closed the distance and engaged Snyder in a clinch.

Raprier has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Snyder is trying to keep an underhook but Raprier manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Raprier uses his free foot to push down on Snyder's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Snyder.

Snyder is trying to reverse the position but instead Raprier has taken his back - oops!

Raprier wants to control but Snyder is keeping busy.

Snyder is trying to get back to his feet but Raprier has full control of the position and if anything, Snyder has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Snyder fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Raprier avoids it really well and circles away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Raprier is keen to just control but Snyder is a slippery customer.
Snyder strikes from the bottom but Raprier passes into mount!

Raprier blocks Snyder's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Raprier is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Snyder has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Snyder!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Raprier wants to improve his position but instead Snyder has moved into half guard.

Snyder is taking a breather. Raprier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Wilburn Snyder has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Raprier has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
