Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Hazlehurst (ranked 8213 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kareem Dennis (ranked 4240 p4p, 0 weight class). Hazlehurst comes to the cage accompanied by Queen - One Vision. Kareem Dennis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Hazlehurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Kareem Dennis !
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dennis shoots in for a takedown but Hazlehurst shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A big left from Dennis misses.
Dennis misses with an uppercut.
Dennis uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kareem Dennis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hazlehurst uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dennis .
Hazlehurst drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dennis sprawls and moves away.
Dennis shoots in looking for a takedown. Hazlehurst tries to sprawl out of it but Dennis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hazlehurst manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hazlehurst dives in for a single leg takedown but Dennis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Hazlehurst looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dennis !
Dennis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Dennis is trying to maintain the position but Hazlehurst is very close to passing his half guard.

Hazlehurst is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dennis wants to control but Hazlehurst is keeping busy.

Dennis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hazlehurst wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dennis keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hazlehurst working over Dennis with some ground and pound. Dennis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hazlehurst controlling the pace.
Dennis wants to control but Hazlehurst is keeping busy.

Dennis is pulling down on Hazlehurst's head to control his posture.
Dennis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hazlehurst is one step ahead there.
Hazlehurst postures up in Dennis 's guard and throws a big left but Dennis blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hazlehurst wants to control from the top but Dennis keeps moving.
Dennis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Dennis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dennis passes Hazlehurst's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dennis wants to pass the guard but Hazlehurst is defending well.
Hazlehurst is trying to stand up here but Dennis is controlling him well.
Hazlehurst tries to get to full guard but Dennis has control of the leg.
Dennis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hazlehurst does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hazlehurst wants to improve his position but Dennis is controlling well.
Dennis not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Dennis wants to work for an arm triangle but Hazlehurst is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Dennis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hazlehurst is not content to let Dennis control the position.
Dennis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hazlehurst knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Dennis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dennis wants to pass the guard but Hazlehurst is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dennis slows the pace down in half guard.
Dennis is trying to control. Hazlehurst wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hazlehurst tries to get to full guard but Dennis has control of the leg.
Dennis wants to control but Hazlehurst is keeping him busy.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dennis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hazlehurst haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hazlehurst shoots in looking for a takedown. Dennis tries to sprawl out of it but Hazlehurst keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dennis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kareem Dennis will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Hazlehurst has Dennis up against the cage in a clinch.
Dennis lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hazlehurst backwards.

Dennis drags the fight down to the ground.
Dennis has control of Hazlehurst's left arm, preventing Hazlehurst from doing any damage.
Hazlehurst cracks Dennis with a solid left hand.
Dennis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Dennis is pushing down on Hazlehurst's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hazlehurst is fighting to maintain full guard but Dennis has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hazlehurst wants to improve his position but Dennis is controlling well.
Dennis is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Dennis is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hazlehurst!

Dennis looking to control but Hazlehurst is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Dennis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hazlehurst to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hazlehurst shrugs it off.
Dennis trying to control but Hazlehurst is having none of it.
Hazlehurst is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hazlehurst is squirming around, avoiding Dennis 's attempts to control the action.

Dennis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dennis jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hazlehurst manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Hazlehurst tries to improve position but can't.

Dennis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hazlehurst knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Dennis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hazlehurst keeps working.

Dennis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dennis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dennis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hazlehurst is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dennis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hazlehurst is trying to escape and Dennis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hazlehurst is forced to tap! Nice work there by Dennis ! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kareem Dennis !
After the fight, Kareem Dennis was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
