PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Padilla (ranked 6101 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Lange (ranked 5485 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lange throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Padilla tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lange is in Padilla's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lange is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Glenn Lange seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Padilla shoots in looking for a takedown but Lange manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Padilla's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lange let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Lange shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Padilla manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Lange is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Padilla knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Padilla pushes Lange away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lange gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Padilla could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Padilla tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lange wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Lange is taking a breather. Padilla says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lange stops Padilla from getting back to his feet.

Lange has control of Padilla's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Padilla regains control of the situation pretty easily.
